Air Pressure Testing can provide a professional Acoustic Consultancy
Service to Architects, Property Developers and Building Contractors.

which in turn helps provide our clients with a helpful proactive service
and provide considerable cost and efficiency benefits for all their
conversions and new build projects.

It is our continual aim to ensure that the Acoustic design elements
of the project are fully understood and are carried out correctly, in
accordance with the current Approved Document E of the Building Regulations.
Part of the service we provide for our clients includes:
Part 1 - Drawing Review.
Once we have received your drawings we will review them in detail to
check that the construction details proposed are capable of meeting
the requirements of Approved Document E of the Building Regulations.
This usually takes place after planning has been approved as increased
cost savings can be realised at this stage, however we can also review
the drawings at a later stage if required.
APT Acoustics will evaluate the construction methods and materials
specified to ensure that they are capable of meeting the basic acoustic
requirements of Approved Document E. Items such as:
» Specifically we would also check the acoustic treatments for
Soil Pipes, Stair Cases Steel Beams etc to ensure they are fit for purpose,
as these are some of the many areas that often let missed.
» We check the Lighting specification to, ensure they are acoustically
complaint to the overall design i.e. Down lighter design etc.
» We check that any acoustic floor treatments are compatible
with the proposed floor finishes i.e. .Carpets, Laminates, Floor Tiles
and Under floor Heating Systems.
Part 2 - Site Visit/s
We visit site to conduct a comprehensive survey and review. We take
this opportunity to meet, where possible, with all the necessary parties
involved in the project, such as the site/project manager, architects
etc. Our survey would assess what would be the most cost effective method
of converting the property taking into account material cost, billability
and programme time. We reflect on the acoustic materials required and
ensure that relevant parties are fully aware of the installation detail
required, highlighting possible problems which could be incurred and
prevented.
Part 3 - The Acoustic Report
Within a one week Air Pressure Testing Ltd will provide a comprehensive
report providing the precise method of installing the acoustic materials
required and their exact specification. Where appropriate, Air Pressure
Testing Ltd will also try to provide alternative material specifications.
Our report is specifically designed for clear understanding and interpretation.
We provide clear - easy to follow, user friendly construction details,
tailored for ease of site construction.
Part 4 - Ongoing Site Support
We provide both the architect and building contractor with ongoing telephone
support. There are no limitations to this support. You will have direct
contact with a dedicated acoustician from the start through to the successful
completion of the project.
